The Director of Economic Development for the Hendry County Economic Development Council, Brent Kettler, has been appointed to represent Hendry County on the Heartland Regional Transportation Planning Organization’s Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC).
Kettler will join the 12 other volunteer members and alternates in providing input on transportation issues and assist in identifying the needs of the public in the Heartland Region. Kettler said:
“Transportation is the common variable present in all economic development challenges in Hendry County, as well as within our region. My objective in participating as a member of the HRPTO CAC is to help glean best practices, relay local challenges to the larger group, and utilize the time spent as a commitment to addressing the top priority Hendry and regional partner transportation challenges.”
The committee is comprised of members from the Heartland region including the six counties of DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands and Okeechobee and the urbanized area of Highlands County including the cities of Sebring and Avon Park. Interested applicants are invited to apply for the CAC if they live or work in the Heartland region and the application is available at www.heartlandregionaltpo.org or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Applicants are reviewed by their local government and appointed by the HRTPO Board.
