Draft Amendment to the FY 2016/2017 through 2020/21 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)

The Heartland Regional Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO) announces the start of a 7-day public comment and review period for the draft amendment to the FY 2016/17 through FY 2020/21 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The draft amendment, requested by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), includes a safety project for Intersection Lighting Retrofit at S. Ridgewood Drive (SR 17) in Avon Park and Sebring, FL. This project was recently added to the FDOT 5 Year Work Program and this amendment to include the project in the TIP is necessary to ensure authorization of federal funds in the current fiscal year.

The comment period for the TIP draft amendment begins on November 14, 2016 and comments will be accepted through November 20, 2016. After the comment period closes and all input has been considered, the TIP draft amendment will be presented for adoption to the HRTPO Board at their meeting on November 30, 2016 with at least seven (7) days public notice. Opportunity for public comment will also be made available at the meeting before Board action is taken.
