Arcadia, FL (September 21, 2015) – Town Administrator of Arcadia, Terry Stewart was appointed as chair of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the Heartland Regional Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO) at the committee’s first meeting on August 19, 2015 in Sebring. Todd Miller, planning director of Hardee County, will serve as vice-chair.
Stewart stated, “It is an honor and privilege to serve the HRTPO as the chair of its Technical Advisory Committee. Though I am relatively new to this region, my work as chair will be made easier because the TAC and HRTPO are comprised of committee and staff members alike who are all highly experienced and professional individuals. We have important work to do for this region and I am excited with the opportunity to help make a difference.”
In order to represent the broad cross-section of interested citizens in the transportation planning process in the six-county Heartland Region including the Sebring-Avon Park urbanized areas, the Heartland Regional Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO) is seeking representatives to serve as members of the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC will provide public input on transportation issues in the Heartland Region.
The Heartland Regional Transportation Organization (HRTPO) presented the draft Public Participation Plan to the Heartland Region on July 1, 2015 for a 45-day public comment period. Copies of the draft were mailed to the public libraries in the region and county and city municipal offices. The plan was also available for review and comment electronically on the organization’s website, www.heartlandregionaltpo.org. All changes have been highlighted in the document with additions underlined and deleted text is shown with a strikethrough.
