Proposed Amendment to the FY 2016/17 through FY 2020/21 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)

The Heartland Regional Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO) announces the start of a seven-day public comment and review period for a proposed amendment to the FY 2016/17 through FY 2020/21 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) requested by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

The amendment includes:

  • The preliminary engineering and construction phase for an intersection improvement in DeSoto County at US 17 and NE Livingston Avenue
  • The preliminary engineering and construction phase for pavement reconstruction in Okeechobee County at US 441 from north of 7th Street to south of 9th Street

These projects are included in the TIP for FY 2017/18 through 2021/22 that will be adopted on June 21, 2017, however, it is necessary to amend them into the current TIP to ensure authorization of federal funds in the first quarter of FY 2017/18.

The comment period for the TIP proposed amendment begins on June 7, 2017, and comments will be accepted through June 13, 2017. The proposed TIP amendment will be presented for adoption to the HRTPO Board at their meeting on June 21, 2017, with at least seven (7) days public notice. An opportunity for public comment will be available at the meeting before Board action is taken.
