The Heartland Regional Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO) announces the start of a seven-day public comment and review period for proposed amendments to the FY 2017/18 through FY 2021/22 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) requested by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).  The TIP is a list of funded transportation projects covering a period of five years. Adopted each year in June, the TIP is updated by amendment throughout the year to ensure authorization of federal funds.

The proposed amendment includes:

  • Highlands Right-of-Way Phase for Turn Lane Project – The HRTPO has received a request from FDOT to amend the FY 2017/18 – FY 2021/22 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) to add state funds for a Right-of-Way phase in the current fiscal year for Project #435066-1 in Highlands County adding a right turn lane on SR 17 at CR17A. This amendment is necessary to ensure authorization of federal funds in the current Fiscal Year 2017/2018.
